Rohan Jaitley has been elected as the president of the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) for the third consecutive term, defeating former India cricketer Kirti Azad in the election. The 35-year-old Rohan, son of the late Union Minister Arun Jaitley, secured 1,577 votes, while Azad received 777 votes. Out of the total 2,413 votes cast, 1,207 votes were required to win.
Rohan was first elected unopposed in 2020 when Rajat Sharma resigned midway. A year later, he defeated advocate Vikas Singh. Notably, late Arun Jaitley served as the DDCA president for 14 years.
Rohan received strong support from former BCCI acting president CK Khanna, who holds significant influence in Delhi cricket. CK Khanna’s daughter, Shikha Kumar, also emerged victorious in the election for the vice-president’s post, defeating Rakesh Kumar Bansal and Sudhir Kumar Agarwal. Shikha secured 1,246 votes, while Bansal and Agarwal managed 536 and 498 votes, respectively.
Ashok Kumar and Harish Singla were Elected to Key DDCA Posts
Ashok Kumar (893 votes) was elected as DDCA Secretary, while Harish Singla (1,328 votes) secured the role of Treasurer. Amit Grover (1,189 votes) will serve as Joint Secretary, with all office bearers elected for three years. Other elected directors include Anand Verma (985 votes), Manjit Singh (1,050), Navdeep M (1,034), Shyam Sharma (1,165), Tushar Sehgal (926), Vikas Katyal (1,054), and Vikram Kohli (939). Elections for directors take place annually.

Rohan Jaitley Responds to Allegations of Corruption
Rohan Jaitley responded to the corruption allegations raised by the opposition team, stating, “Such remarks are made during elections and sometimes retracted later. If there were any issues, why weren’t they raised over the past three years? No case, no complaint, no raised issues.”
Plans for High-Performance Center Unveiled
After securing victory, Jaitley shared his vision for his next term, stating, “The High-Performance Center is already in progress and will benefit players, enhancing their ability to represent both the state and the country.”

Azad Accuses DDCA of Misusing Funds
Kirti Azad, a former India cricketer and current Trinamool Congress MP, accused DDCA of misusing funds. He alleged that Rs 17.5 crore was spent on floodlights, while only Rs 7.5 crore were used at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. He also raised concerns about the inadequate spending of Rs 140 crore received from the BCCI.
