IPL 2025 Mega Auction is awaiting at the door. Many big names, who are out of their previous season’s squad, will be looking for their new destination in the Indian Premier League. One of them is Manish Pandey, the season batter in the IPL who last season played for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Not a good season for Manish
Manish, despite his experience, barely got any chance to showcase his talent. As per the stats from the KKR official website, the 35-year-old batter played only 2 IPL 2024 matches of the KKR, champions of the last season.
Few IPL seasons stats about Pandey
According to the stats on the website, Manish Pandey played only 2 matches for the Purple Brigade with a 42.00 batting average and a strike rate of over 135. Manish also not shined in the IPL 2023. He played a total of 10 matches in IPL 2023 and managed to score only 160 runs, in which a fifty-run innings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In the 2021 Indian Premier League, Manish got some runs, which could justify his name—a 48.66 average in 8 matches he played in that season. If we talk about his couple of previous IPL seasons, then he may not deserve to be in the first XI of any ten IPL teams.
Manish Still has some teams to look for
But still, he can help any team with his experience in the shorter format of cricket and agility in fielding. Several teams will need domestic talents for the upcoming IPL season. Pandey previously played for the Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Mumbai Indians in the existing format. All of the teams will need Indian batters on their reserve bench. Manish Pandey, who passed his prime long ago, can look for an environment where he fits himself easily.
