Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget on Saturday. In a major move for farmers, she announced the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Yojana. Under this scheme, 100 districts with low crop yields, low crop intensity, and below-average loan parameters will be included. This will benefit 1.7 crore farmers.

The Finance Minister stated that the central government will run this scheme in collaboration with the states. The focus will be on improving the lives of the poor, women, farmers, and youth. Emphasis will be placed on agricultural growth, manufacturing, and rural development. Efforts will also be made to strengthen the financial sector. Along with launching the Dhan Dhanya Yojana for farmers, another significant benefit has been announced for them.

What is PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana?

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the launch of the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana to support farmers. This scheme aims to help districts where agricultural production is low. Under the scheme, the central government will work with state governments to create policies that will boost agricultural production and increase farmers’ income. Benefits of the Scheme

Under the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, farmers will receive high-quality seeds at affordable prices to help increase production. Additionally, they will be provided with free fertilizers to boost crop yields. Small and marginal farmers will also get subsidies for agricultural equipment like tractors, pumps, and other tools. The scheme will also offer training on new farming technologies and the use of agricultural equipment. Furthermore, financial assistance will be provided to support the farmers.

Kisan Credit Card Limit Increased

The Finance Minister has announced an increase in the Kisan Credit Card limit from ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh. Additionally, reforms will be introduced in sectors such as tax, electricity, agriculture, mining, and urban development. The government’s goals for a developed India include eliminating poverty, ensuring 100% quality education, and providing affordable and comprehensive health services.

Big Gift for Makhana Farmers of Bihar

The Finance Minister has also presented a major announcement for Makhana farmers in Bihar. A Makhana Board will be formed to support the production and marketing of Makhana. Farmers involved in this sector will be organized as Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).

Steps Toward Urea Self-Sufficiency

To achieve self-sufficiency in urea production, the government has reopened three closed urea plants in the eastern region. Additionally, a new plant with an annual capacity of 12.7 lakh metric tonnes will be established in Namrup, Assam, to boost urea supply.
