Strict Enforcement Ahead

Once the government rolls out these new rules, they’ll be enforced rigorously. Additionally, the Parliamentary Standing Committee has urged the government to boost insurance coverage and improve data integration along with e-challan systems.

The IRDA reports that of the estimated 350 to 400 million vehicles operating on Indian roads, over 50% lack third-party insurance coverage. Should the government heed the insurance sector’s recommendations, obtaining insurance could become a more streamlined process.
