Honda Activa: Automobile manufacturers are increasingly implementing discounts and promotional offers to enhance their sales figures. Reports indicate that a significant amount of unsold inventory is accumulating at dealerships. In light of this situation, companies are striving to elevate sales by any means necessary. Additionally, two-wheelers are now subject to taxation alongside automobiles.

Recent reports reveal that Honda Two-Wheelers India has rendered the Activa tax-free this month. Consequently, this scooter is now available for purchase through the Canteen Stores Department (CSD). Various brands offer vehicles at this canteen, which are exempt from taxes and provided to military personnel at competitive prices.

Soldiers are required to pay only 14% GST (Goods and Services Tax) instead of the standard 28% when purchasing from the CSD. The Honda Activa is now included in this offering, with its ex-showroom price at the CSD set at Rs 66,286.

In contrast, the civil ex-showroom price for the STD variant of the Honda Activa is Rs 76,684, resulting in a price reduction of Rs 10,398 for the scooter. This translates to a potential tax saving of Rs 10,680 depending on the variant. There are two variants available at the CSD. If no family member is in the armed forces, individuals can still acquire this scooter through friends or acquaintances.
