The good news is here. Lately, central employees have been pushing for the 8th Pay Commission. With their growing demands and needs, the central government has just announced that they’re setting up the 8th Pay Commission, which is expected to lead to a significant salary boost for employees. Plus, pensioners are likely to see some financial benefits too.

Big news from the Modi government—

The Modi administration has officially approved the 8th Pay Commission, and it looks like it will be rolled out for central employees pretty soon. This means we can expect recommendations on salary increases and pension adjustments for workers.

Before the new pay commission kicks in, it will submit its final report to the central government, which will then decide how to act on the panel’s recommendations. There’s a good chance the 8th Pay Commission will be implemented starting January 1, 2026.

And there’s more good news about the fitment factor—

On January 16, the central government announced the creation of the 8th Pay Commission. This could also mean an increase in the fitment factor for both central employees and pensioners. The new panel will provide suggestions on revising salaries and pensions as well.

Once the Central Government sets the fitment factor, we can determine the entire pay matrix for employees under the 8th Pay Commission, covering salaries from level 1 to 10.

Here’s how the salaries will look:

If the government decides on a fitment factor of 2.86, the minimum salary for level-1 employees could jump from Rs 18,000 to Rs 51,480. For level-2 employees, their pay might rise from Rs 19,900 to Rs 56,914. Level-3 employees could see their salaries go up from Rs 21,700 to Rs 62,062, while level-4 employees would earn Rs 72,930.

Moving on to level-5 employees, their salary could increase from Rs 29,200 to Rs 83,512. Level-6 employees would have a salary of Rs 101,244. Level-7 employees might see their pay rise from Rs 44,990 to Rs 128,000, and level-8 employees could earn between Rs 47,600 and Rs 136,136. Lastly, level-9 employees could see an increase from Rs 53,100 to Rs 151,866, while level-10 employees might go from Rs 56,100 to Rs 160,446.
