Kia Syros: Kia India has done a great job amid the ever-increasing demand for sub-four-meter SUVs. The courier car company has launched the new Kia Syros to place it between the already existing great cars like the Kia Sonet and Kia Seltos.
We have driven this SUV on the roads of Delhi-NCR and its drive review can also be read on our website. The price of this C-segment SUV will be announced in a few days. Let’s try to understand the Syros in 5 different points.
Design
The company has tried to give the Kia Syros a design inspired by flagship cars like EV9 and EV3. It gets a blanked-off top-grille section, air intake, 3 vertically stacked LED projector headlights with black cladding and faux silver bash plate, vertical LED DRLs, flash door handles, shark fin antenna, bridge-type roof rails, 17-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels with cladding on wheel arches and doors.
Dimensions
Talking about the size, the Kia Syros is 3995 mm in length, 1800 mm in width, and 1665 mm in height. Also, the wheelbase of this SUV is 2550 mm. In comparison, the Kia Syros is larger than its younger sibling Sonet, and smaller than the Seltos. Its boot space is 465 liters with 190 mm ground clearance.
Interior
It gets a two-spoke multi-function steering wheel with triple screen setup, connected car suite, 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, retractable cup holder, wireless phone charger, manual blinds for rear windows, smart air purifier with AQI display, rear AC vents, 64-color ambient lighting and front and rear USB C ports with OTA updates and many advanced features.
Safety
Kia Syros has taken special care of safety. The company’s latest SUV is equipped with Level-2 Adas, 6 airbags, front, side, and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, traction control, all disc brakes (only in top-spec models), ISOFIX anchor points for child seats, cruise control, electronic parking brake with auto hold.
Fuel Efficiency
When buying a new car, the most important thing is to know how much mileage the car is giving. Its 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine will give a claimed mileage of 18.20 KMPL with a 6-speed manual gearbox and 17.68 KMPL with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the 1.5-litre diesel engine will give a claimed mileage of 20.75 KMPL with a 6-speed manual gearbox and 17.65 KMPL with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
