Everyone is talking about Mahakumbh 2025. Following the tragic loss of 30 lives in the stampede at Prayagraj Mahakumbh on Wednesday, the Yogi government has decided to implement significant changes to the event’s arrangements. The state government is deeply affected by this incident, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visibly emotional. The chaos was caused by the overwhelming crowd of millions of devotees who gathered on Mauni Amavasya. In response, CM Yogi Adityanath has dispatched two of his most trusted IAS officers to oversee the Mahakumbh preparations.

The officers, Ashish Goyal and Bhanu Goswami, bring a wealth of experience, having successfully managed the arrangements for the Ardh Kumbh in Prayagraj in 2019. During that event, they worked alongside Vijay Kiran Anand to ensure everything ran smoothly. At that time, Bhanu Goswami served as the District Magistrate and Vice Chairman of the Prayagraj Authority, while Ashish Goyal was the Commissioner of Allahabad and responsible for the Ardh Kumbh Mela. Additionally, five more Special Secretary rank officers with Kumbh management experience have been assigned to assist.

In light of this incident, CM Yogi has made several crucial decisions. He emphasized that all routes leading to and from Prayagraj must remain open and that it is their duty to ensure every devotee reaches their destination safely. The Chief Minister has also ordered increased patrolling on all access routes to Prayagraj.

Traffic disruptions are to be avoided at all costs, and the administrations of Ayodhya, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Chitrakoot have been instructed to stay vigilant. To enhance the arrangements for the Maha Kumbh, five special secretaries will be deployed in addition to Ashish Goyal and Bhanu Goswami, who are both integral to the management efforts.

Following the accident, CM Yogi conducted a video conference late into the night with high-ranking police officers and district administration officials from various locations, including Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Mirzapur, Basti, Jaunpur, Chitrakoot, Banda, Ambedkarnagar, Pratapgarh, Sant Kabir Nagar, Bhadohi, Rae Bareli, and Gorakhpur, alongside senior government officials. Significant decisions were made as a result of this meeting.
