There is a big update for Ration Card holders.Beneficiaries looking to snag free grains need to complete their eKYC as soon as they can. The supply department has set a deadline of February 15 for ration card holders to get this done. If they miss the deadline, their ration card will be canceled. Gorakhpur District Supply Officer Ramendra Pratap Singh mentioned that after the deadline, new ration cards will be issued.

Right now, there are 6.62 lakh units in Gorakhpur that still need to complete their e-KYC. If anyone in a ration card holder’s family fails to do their e-KYC, their name will be removed from the card, resulting in one less unit of ration. A list of those who haven’t completed their e-KYC is being compiled by dealers and sent out. Dealers will be going door-to-door to inform people about the need to get their e-KYC done. If a beneficiary is living in another state, they can still complete their eKYC using their ration card number.

You can get your e-KYC done at the ration shop. The original deadline was December 31, but it was extended. If eKYC isn’t completed, ration access will be cut off, so make sure to get it done for everyone in your household on time. Additionally, any fake units linked will be identified and removed through the eKYC process.

In Etawah district, approximately 400,000 individuals might miss out on receiving their rations due to the absence of e-KYC verification. Seema Tripathi, the District Supply Officer, has informed that a list of beneficiaries who have not completed their e-KYC has been provided to all ration dealers in the area. They have been instructed to ensure that everyone completes their e-KYC promptly; otherwise, they risk losing access to the free ration program.

The government now requires e-KYC for individuals to qualify for free rations. Without this verification, rations will not be distributed. Currently, around 392,224 consumers in Etawah have yet to complete their e-KYC, which could lead to difficulties in obtaining essential food grains. Despite the department’s significant efforts to facilitate this process, a considerable number of consumers still have not completed their e-KYC.
