Big news for ration card holder’s. The Food Civil Supplies Department has implemented a new policy that affects consumers who have not completed their electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) process, resulting in the blocking of their ration cards. However, there is a silver lining for those affected by this situation.

Consumers can now rejoice as they no longer need to make a physical trip to the department to have their blocked ration cards reinstated. Instead, they can take advantage of a convenient mobile application developed specifically by the department to facilitate the unblocking of their cards.

This innovative feature is particularly beneficial for individuals whose family members reside outside the state and are unable to travel to Himachal Pradesh. By utilizing the mobile app, these consumers can easily complete their e-KYC process and regain access to affordable rations at the depots, just as they did before the blocking occurred.

The app allows users to complete their e-KYC from the comfort of their own homes, eliminating the need for in-person visits. Consumers, whether they are currently in Himachal Pradesh or living in other states or even abroad, can simply download the ‘e-KYC PDS HP Face App’ from the Google Play Store. This user-friendly application enables individuals to complete their e-KYC without any complications, ensuring that they can access essential resources without unnecessary delays.

In addition to the mobile app, there are alternative options available for consumers to complete their e-KYC. They can visit their local Lokmitra Kendra or a nearby fair price shop equipped with an e-POS machine to finalize the process. Once the e-KYC is successfully completed, the previously blocked ration card will be unblocked, allowing consumers to visit the depots and collect their monthly ration without any further issues.

This initiative not only streamlines the process of completing e-KYC but also ensures that consumers can continue to access vital food supplies, regardless of their location. The Food Civil Supplies Department’s commitment to making this process more accessible reflects a significant step forward in enhancing consumer convenience and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to obtain the rations they need.
