Good news for EPFO members. Members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) will now find it much easier to update their personal details, such as their names. This announcement was made by the Union Minister on Saturday. The government has introduced reforms within EPFO, allowing members to make these changes independently through the EPFO’s digital platform.

EPFO members can update their information on their own

Union Minister of Labor and Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya, stated, “With over 10 crore beneficiaries in EPFO, members previously faced a lengthy process to update their information. However, with the new reforms, they can now easily make these changes without needing assistance from others.”

All complaints will be addressed promptly

Mansukh Mandaviya also mentioned, “EPFO has received around 8 lakh complaints regarding name changes and other details. This new system will help resolve these issues quickly.” Additionally, the Union Minister noted that the government has made reforms to streamline the transfer of EPFO accounts. Members can now transfer their EPFO accounts from one organization to another using an OTP, simplifying the previous process.

Centralized pension payments system rollout completed

Earlier this month, EPFO announced the successful rollout of the Centralized Pension Payments System (CPPS) in all regional offices nationwide. This initiative will benefit over 68 lakh pensioners.

With this new system, beneficiaries can withdraw their pensions from any bank, and they will no longer need to visit the bank for verification when starting their pension. This change will greatly ease the process for pensioners who return to their hometowns after retirement and wish to spend their later years there.
