Jaipur: Rajasthan government employees have got a big gift this Diwali. The state government has increased their dearness allowance (DA). The Finance Department has also issued an official order regarding this, under which the DA of the employees has been increased from 50% to 53%.

That is, the dearness allowance has been increased by 3%. The government has made this increase from 01-07-2024. The October salary will be available with three months’ arrears, including DA.

According to the government order, the increased amount in dearness allowance for the period from 01-07-2024 to 31-10-2024 will be deposited in the GPF account as per the provisions of Rajasthan Government Employees General Provident Fund Rules, 2021:

(i) For employees recruited before 1-1-2004 – GPF account.

(ii) For employees recruited on or after 1-1-2004 – GPF-2004.

(iii) For employees of autonomous bodies / public sector undertakings/boards/corporations etc. – GPF-SAB.

In fact, before Diwali, state governments were increasing dearness allowances as good news for their employees. On Wednesday, the Naib Singh Saini government of Haryana also announced a three per cent increase in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for government employees and pensioners from July 1.

According to the order, “Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief payable to Haryana Government employees and pensioners or family pensioners has been increased from 50% to 53% of the basic pay from July 1, 2024.”

According to the order, the increased DA and DR will be given along with the salary and pension of October, and the arrears from July to September will be given in December.
