Vishwanath Samson, father of India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson, has made serious allegations against the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA). Vishwanath claimed that he knew Sanju would not be played in the Vijay Hazare tournament even before the camp. He also mentioned that other players who did not participate in the camp were selected for the tournament, though he did not name the KCA officials, saying, “I know who they are.” He questioned whether the KCA had any explanation for this decision. Vishwanath made these comments in a private online interview.

Discrimination Against Both My Sons

Vishwanath revealed that before Sanju, his elder son Saili Samson had played for Kerala. Saili scored a century for the Under-19 team and was considered a promising player. He also performed well in the Ranji camp but was not selected for the Ranji Trophy team. Vishwanath shared that Saili was included in the Kerala Under-25 team but was not given a chance to play in four matches. Vishwanath stated, “We are players. We are not interested in the sports business. Some people may think we are here to rise up the ranks, but we are not interested in that.”

Attempt to Remove Sanju Samson

Vishwanath Samson also questioned why his elder son, who was once seen as a possible candidate for the Indian team before Sanju, was left out. He further claimed there was an attempt to remove Sanju from the team. He recalled an incident during a Ranji match when both his sons injured their knees. Vishwanath had called to ask for leave, which led to a small argument with KCA President TC Mathew.

Vishwanath said, “I called him sir, but he answered rudely, asking, ‘Are you the coach of the Kerala cricket team?’” Despite this, Vishwanath expressed gratitude for the support the KCA has given to his family in the past.

Problems with Some People in KCA

Vishwanath said that if there was any issue with his children, the KCA could have approached him directly. He said, “We have never gone against the KCA. The problem is with some people.” He added, “Even if you don’t greet them, it becomes an issue. I have respect and love for everyone.” Notably, Earlier MP Shashi Tharoor also commented that the arrogance of KCA officials is harming Sanju’s career. He shared his views on the social media platform X.
