Mohammad Kaif on Rishabh Pant: The Indian team’s star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has impressed everyone with his game. However, his bat did not perform well during the Australia tour, which raised concerns. Despite this, Pant has done well in the longest cricket format and has been more successful in ODIs.

Mohammad Kaif, who worked with Pant as the assistant coach of Delhi Capitals in the IPL, gave special advice to the young wicketkeeper-batsman and mentioned the people he should avoid. The team for the Champions Trophy has not been announced yet, but it could be revealed today. Attention is focused on whether Sanju Samson will be included alongside Pant. Recently, Samson has shown better form than Pant in limited overs, which is why his name is generating buzz.

Pant Needs to Recognize the Reality, Says Kaif

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Kaif stated that Sanju Samson should be given preference over Rishabh Pant. He also advised Pant to carefully select the people around him.

Kaif remarked, “Pant needs to recognize the reality. If someone is telling him that he has been wronged, they are not telling the truth. Pant should stay away from such friends. Someone needs to tell him that his limited-overs statistics are not good. Sanju has earned his place in the Champions Trophy, while Pant needs to work harder.”

Sanju Samson Ahead in Batting, Pant Excels in Wicketkeeping

Kaif believes that in terms of batting, Sanju is ahead of Pant, but Pant is better than Sanju in wicketkeeping. “Sanju Samson has come a long way,” Kaif said. “You have to understand that people’s emotions are tied to Pant. He is a big match-winner in Tests. No one can forget his innings at Gabba and his century in South Africa. He has done well in Tests abroad.”

The former Indian All-Rounder added, “Pant is a better wicketkeeper than Sanju. He has reached MS Dhoni’s level. But when it comes to batting, Sanju has gone far ahead. He is batting brilliantly. In South Africa, he scored a century with flair, hitting more sixes than fours.”
