In the ongoing day-night Test match in Adelaide, Team India finds itself on the backfoot after Day 1, as Australia’s bowlers and batsmen dominate proceedings. After losing Usman Khawaja early, the Australian middle-order, led by Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne, put India under pressure with a steady partnership. Despite an early breakthrough by Jasprit Bumrah, who dismissed Khawaja for 24, India failed to capitalize on the momentum.

Earlier, the Indian team’s first innings were all out at 180 runs. The highest run-scorer in the first innings for the Indian team was Nitish Reddy, who scored 42 runs. Apart from him, KL Rahul scored 37, Shubman Gill scored 31, Ashwin scored 22 and Rishabh Pant scored 21 runs. Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc wreaked havoc, taking six wickets. Starc took 6 wickets giving 48 runs in 14.1 overs. Let us tell you, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has won the toss and decided to bat first.
