Most sixes in career in T20s: In the Big Bash League 2024-25, Glenn Maxwell has surprised world cricket with his explosive batting. In the 40th match of the BBL, Melbourne Stars defeated Hobart Hurricanes by 40 runs. Playing for Melbourne Stars in this match, Maxwell scored 76 runs off 32 balls. During his innings, Maxwell hit 5 fours and 6 sixes. Thanks to Maxwell’s performance, Melbourne Stars scored 219 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Hobart Hurricanes could only manage 179 runs in 19.3 overs while chasing the target. Maxwell was named Player of the Match for his stormy innings.

Maxwell Breaks Rohit Sharma’s Record

Glenn Maxwell broke a special record of Rohit Sharma in T20 cricket during the 40th match of the Big Bash League (BBL). Maxwell put on a spectacular display of batting, hitting 6 sixes in his innings. With this achievement, Maxwell surpassed Rohit Sharma for the most sixes in T20 cricket. Maxwell now holds the seventh position for hitting the most sixes in T20s, having hit 528 sixes in 458 matches so far. In comparison, Rohit Sharma has hit 525 sixes from 435 innings in 448 matches.

Maxwell’s Brilliant BBL Season

Maxwell has been in great form in the BBL this season, scoring 297 runs in 8 matches at an average of 59.40. He has been named Player of the Match for three consecutive games in the tournament, showcasing his impressive performance.

Good News for Punjab Kings

Maxwell’s explosive form in the BBL is certainly good news for the Punjab Kings. The franchise bought him for ₹4 crores in the IPL auction, and he has now been added to their squad. It will be interesting to see how much of an impact Maxwell can make for Punjab Kings in the upcoming IPL season.
