Mahakumbh Stampede:- There was a stampede on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya in Prayagraj Mahakumbh. 30 devotees died, and 60 people were injured in the stampede accident. The injured have been admitted to the hospitalTwenty-five25 of the dead have been identified,d and five are unidentified. Now, after 2 days, the administration has put up posters of the faces of 24 unidentified dead. Relatives are trying to identify the dead from these posters. Outside the post-mortem house, many questions have arisen from this posture. On the other hand, a judicial inquiry has been started in the stampede case. Today, the members of the judicial commission will reach the spot and assess the situation.
Many people in the stampede took place at Sangam Nose after midnight of Mauni Amavasya, whose relatives cannot contact their loved ones. After the accident, the trouble increased a lot since people’s mobiles were switched off. Family members reached the Central Hospital at Parade Ground to get information about their loved ones. Still, due to not getting concrete information about the relatives there, they kept visiting SRN Hospital and Medical College from SRN.
Shishupal, a resident of Saramau in Jhansi, said that his father, 58-year-old Mahesh Yada, has been missing since Tuesday. He came to Sangam on January 27. The family members also circulated information from the lost-and-found centre, but he was not assessed. Sheela Mandal and Kapil Mandal of the Bhandara district of Maharashtra, who reached the Central Hospital on Thursday afternoon, said that their father, 70-year-old Vishnupada, has been missing since Tuesday night, and they are still unable to contact him.
Treatment of 37 injured is going on.
Forty-one people injured in the accident were referred from the Central Hospital of Mahakumbh to the city’s Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital after first aid on Wednesday. Four injured people were discharged after their condition improved, while the treatment of the rest is still ongoing. The injured were admitted to the hospital’s trauma centre and ward number four of the new building. The injured praised the treatment.
