Jalgaon Train Accident Update: Rise in death toll! According to the latest report, 13 individuals have lost their lives

Jalgaon Train Accident: A chaotic scene unfolded among passengers on the Mumbai Pushpak Express train in Jalgaon district, Maharashtra, on Wednesday evening, triggered by a rumor of a fire. In a panic, many passengers leaped onto the adjacent tracks, fearing for their lives. Tragically, as they did so, another train was approaching from the opposite direction, resulting in some passengers being struck.

Died atleast 13!

Reports indicate that at least 13 individuals lost their lives in this incident, which occurred between Maheji and Pardhade stations near Pachora town. The rumor centered around train number 12533, the Lucknow-Mumbai Pushpak Express, while the Karnataka Express, traveling from Bengaluru to Delhi, was the train involved in the collision. Central Railway officials reported that around 15 other passengers sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical care.

Dilip Kumar, the Executive Director of the Railway Board’s Information and Publicity Department, has refuted claims of a fire on the train, stating, “Based on the information we have, there was no spark or fire observed in the coach.”

Railway officials are actively investigating the true cause of the accident. In the meantime, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his condolences to the families of the victims.

The Prime Minister’s Office shared a post on X quoting him: “I am deeply saddened by the tragic accident on the railway track in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. I offer my heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and pray for the swift recovery of all those injured. Officials are providing all necessary assistance to those affected.”
