Craftsmen and artisans play a key role in shaping our cultural heritage. Unfortunately, many traditional artisans in the country are struggling financially these days. To help uplift these individuals, the Government of India has launched an impressive initiative called the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana. This program was kicked off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Vishwakarma Jayanti, which falls on September 17, 2023.

The scheme aims to provide financial support and skill development training for various artisans, including carpenters, blacksmiths, goldsmiths, potters, tailors, barbers, cobblers, sculptors, and toy makers. The goal is to enhance their skills and promote self-sufficiency. Additionally, beneficiaries can access loans at reduced interest rates under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.

This initiative is set to not only boost the financial stability of traditional artisans but also enhance their productivity. The Government of India offers a range of benefits to those who participate in the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana.
