₹1 lakh profit from 1 bigha of land! Amritbhai sets an example of how to do business

Business : Farmer Amritbhai Patel, a 68-year-old individual from the Sabarkantha district, has practiced natural farming for the past 15 years. He completed SSC and began farming by following in his grandfather’s agricultural footsteps.

At present, he is engaged in cow-centric organic farming on 15 bighas of land. He cultivates sugarcane and produces jaggery using natural methods, enhancing its value and generating income. Amrutbhai Patel stated, “My two sons, Prakashbhai and Alpeshbhai, are also practicing natural farming on their 15 bigha plot. They are farmers as well. We learned about this cow-centered farming in 2009 and slowly embraced this practice. Once they became part of Aatma, both my sons embraced this farming approach and are now enhancing their crop’s worth by producing jaggery from sugarcane. In natural farming, after the sugarcane is planted, it continues to be harvested for a period of 5 to 7 years.

He further stated, ‘We are using drip irrigation, which conserves water. Two bighas of land yield 3500 to 4000 kg of jaggery. We prepare this sugarcane at no cost and sell it after enhancing its value, resulting in higher profits. We are generating over one lakh rupees by selling jaggery from one bigha, and around 20 individuals are involved in its production.’

Jaggery contains a high level of calcium

The farmer mentioned, “Creating jaggery is performed using traditional methods.” In which jaggery is produced from sugarcane juice without the use of any chemicals. Jaggery contains a high level of calcium and is good for health. Consuming jaggery boosts energy levels in the body. The production of jaggery began ten years ago, ensuring that it is entirely pure.
