To help these people achieve their dreams, the Government of India runs the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Recently, a mobile app has been introduced, bringing a big change to the scheme.
Until now, applications for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) could only be submitted offline. However, with the launch of a new mobile app, people can now apply online as well. The Central Government has introduced the ‘Awas Plus 2024’ app, making the process easier.
How to Download the ‘Awas Plus 2024’ App?
The ‘Awas Plus 2024’ app is available on the Google Play Store. Users should download it only from the official Play Store. After downloading the app, applicants can:
- Check the application process
- Read scheme rules
- View the list of beneficiaries
Applicants must submit the necessary information and documents through the app. Once the details are verified, eligible applicants will receive financial assistance directly in their bank accounts.
Documents Required for PMAY Application
To avoid rejection, applicants must ensure they have all the necessary documents. Missing or incomplete documents may lead to application rejection.
Here is the list of required documents:
- Aadhaar Card and Income Proof
- Residential Address Proof
- Mobile Number Linked to Aadhaar
- Bank Account Details Linked to Aadhaar
- Two Recent Passport-Sized Photographs
- Birth Certificate
PMAY Deadline Extended
Initially, the government planned to complete the scheme by 2022. However, to give more people a chance to apply, the deadline has been extended.
- The previous deadline for PMAY-U (Urban) and PMAY-G (Rural) was March 31, 2022.
- The new deadline to apply for PMAY and avail of the home loan subsidy is January 26, 2025.
This extension provides a golden opportunity for those who missed the earlier deadline.
Steps to Apply for PMAY Online
Applicants can follow these simple steps to apply online for PMAY:
- Visit the official website – pmayg.nic.in
- Go to the notification section and click on ‘Apply for PMAY-U 2.0’ link
- Enter required details – Aadhaar number, income details, address, etc.
- Fill in all the fields carefully and enter the captcha code at the end
- Submit the form to complete the application process
