Oyo will no longer permit them to stay without certificate – Times Bull

Oyo will no longer permit them to stay without certificate

OYO is set to implement a significant change that will impact couples. The company has announced a new check-in policy for room bookings, which will prohibit unmarried couples from renting rooms. This policy will first be enforced in Meerut, where guests will be required to provide proof of marriage for both online and offline bookings. The new regulations will take effect immediately in Meerut hotels, with plans to expand to additional cities based on the feedback received.

New check-in policy aim

Pawas Sharma, the Head of OYO North India Region, stated, “OYO is dedicated to ensuring responsible and secure accommodations for our guests. The introduction of this new check-in policy aims to enhance the safety of families, students, and solo travelers. We believe this measure will help us attract a larger customer base and boost bookings.” OYO has empowered its partner hotels to decline reservations if appropriate identification is not presented.

The initial rollout of this check-in policy is taking place at OYO partner hotels in Meerut, and further implementation will depend on the feedback gathered from this location. Consequently, OYO rooms will now be exclusively available to married individuals, marking a significant shift in their booking policy.

Unmarried couples will no longer be able to secure accommodations, as OYO will require valid identification to verify their relationship status during check-in.
