About Mukhyamantri Khet Suraksha Yojana UP
Under the Mukhyamantri Khet Suraksha Yojana UP, a solar fence running on just 12 volts of electric current will be installed to protect crops from animals. Touching the solar fence will give a slight shock to the animals, which will not harm them, but will keep them away from the crops. As soon as an animal touches the fence, a siren will sound, and the animal will receive a mild shock. This will help prevent animals from damaging standing crops in the fields. The government will provide a grant of Rs 1.43 lakh per hectare to small and marginal farmers.
The draft of the scheme has been prepared by the Agriculture Department and will soon be sent to the Cabinet for approval. After approval, the scheme will be implemented across the state. The state government has also proposed increasing the budget for this scheme from Rs 75 crore to Rs 350 crore.
