IRCTC is bringing ‘Super App’, know how you will benefit from it

Indian Railways is gearing up to roll out the IRCTC Super App. With a name like ‘Super’, you can bet it’s going to have some cool features. And you’re right to think that! This app isn’t just about booking train tickets; it’s packed with a bunch of other handy services.

It’s designed to be a one-stop shop for all your travel needs, bringing various railway services together in one digital space. The launch is expected in December this year, thanks to the collaboration between the Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) and IRCTC.

With this app, passengers can book both reserved and unreserved tickets all in one place. Plus, you’ll be able to buy platform passes, track trains in real-time, order food and drinks, and even leave feedback. There’s also a potential B2B segment for logistics companies to book freight services.

The goal of this new app is to streamline the travel experience for millions of rail passengers, so you won’t have to juggle multiple apps like IRCTC Rail Connect, UTS, and Rail Maidakh anymore. IRCTC will still handle ticket bookings, keeping the process familiar and reliable.

While it was first mentioned back in September, the exact launch date is still under wraps. This all-in-one platform will feature a revamped user interface, quicker payment options, live train tracking, and the ability to order food. It will also offer personalized travel recommendations and enhanced safety features, all aimed at saving passengers time and making their train journeys more enjoyable.
