Additionally, an electric variant is also in the works, set to be launched alongside the updated model by mid-2025, according to recent reports. The refreshed Kia Carens and Carens EV will showcase triangular LED headlights akin to those of the forthcoming Kia EV6. Anticipated updates include connected LED daytime running lights (DRLs), redesigned front and rear bumpers, and full-width taillights. The facelifted Carens may also feature new alloy wheels, while the electric version will likely sport aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels.

Furthermore, the electric model will incorporate a closed grille, distinguishing it from the internal combustion engine (ICE) variant. Inside, the Kia Carens facelift is expected to present a modernized dashboard and varied seat upholstery colors. The electric version will utilize durable materials and feature a distinct cabin theme. Both vehicles are anticipated to include a large 12.3-inch dual-screen setup, dual-zone climate control, a wireless phone charger, and a panoramic sunroof on the dashboard. In terms of safety, features such as six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors with level-2 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) will be available.

The Carens will offer three powertrain options: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine, with transmission choices including a 6-speed manual, 6-speed intelligent manual transmission, 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and 6-speed automatic transmission.
