13 lakhs liters of clean water every day! Indian Railways doing something big

Indian Railways Rail Neer: Indian Railways distributes millions of liters of drinking water daily through ‘Rail Neer’ to serve train passengers nationwide. During the winter session of Parliament, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav indicated that the Railways is making an effort to supply approximately 1.3 million liters of safe drinking water daily.

Know what the railway minister has said

The Railway Minister informed Parliament that they regularly test the quality of water at railway stations. Indian Railways is striving to ensure safe and clean drinking water is available at all stations. Water vending machines (WVM) have been set up in various locations to facilitate this.

Indian Railways have currently set up 954 water vending machines

Railways have currently set up 954 water vending machines across different zones to provide passengers with access to clean and inexpensive water. In addition to that, Railways is also supplying ‘Rail Neer’ water endorsed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Passengers travelling by train have the option to report any issues related to drinking water using different channels such as online portal, social media, or other platforms.

The Railway Minister stated that these complaints have been promptly resolved. Upon receiving the complaints, they are promptly sent to the appropriate department for necessary action to be taken.
