Rohit Sharma’s Historic Ranji Return
Rohit Sharma became the first Indian captain to play a Ranji Trophy match after 17 years. The last Indian skipper to achieve this was Anil Kumble, who played for Maharashtra in 2008. Rohit had last appeared in a Ranji Trophy match in 2015, where he scored a brilliant 113 against Uttar Pradesh.
However, despite being the captain of the Indian team, Rohit is not leading Mumbai. Ajinkya Rahane has been given the captaincy for this match.
