Watch: Gavaskar’s ‘DSP’ comment after Mohammed Siraj heated moment with Conway

The first match of the three-match Test series between India and New Zealand is being played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. While the first day’s play of this match was canceled due to rain, the second day’s game was completely ruled by the New Zealand team. Team India captain Rohit Sharma decided to bat first after winning the toss, but after that, only the Blackcaps dominated the day. India only scored 46 in exchange of all ten wickets, that’s a new low for the team in the history of Test cricket. One the other har, New Zealand had scored 180 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in their first innings till the end of the day’s play.

During this time, in the second day’s play, there was a sharp argument between New Zealand batsmen Devon Conway and Indian pace bowler Mohammed Siraj. When the New Zealand team came out to bat in their first innings in the second day’s play, Conway put a boundary against Mohammed Siraj in the 15th over. Siraj appeared very angry about this shot. After bowling the next ball, Mohammed Siraj said something to Devon Conway, on which Conway did not say anything and just smiled at him.

Meanwhile, Indian legendary Sunil Gavaskar, who was commentating, jokingly said, “do not forget that he is DSP now. I was wondering if the players of the Indian team gave him a salute.”

Conway remained at the crease even after reaching the half-century landmark; he continued rotating strikes in a quick manner. He was moving fast towards his century, but Ravichandran Ashwin did not let it happen. Ashwin bowled Devon Conway on a personal score of 91 runs, denying him a century.
