Weather Alert: Western Disturbance to Bring Change in 2 Days, IMD Issues New Warning on Children’s Day

With the arrival of winter, Rajasthan has begun to see both fog and colder temperatures. Early Tuesday morning, a thick fog settled over Bikaner, reducing visibility across the area. The Jaipur Meteorological Department reported Barmer as the warmest city in the state, with a high of 36.4°C, while Sirohi registered the lowest temperature at 12.2°C. In the scenic Arbudanchal valleys, falling temperatures have intensified the morning and evening chill, enhancing the winter atmosphere for both residents and tourists.

Increasing Cold in Jodhpur

On Monday, the minimum temperature fell by one degree Celsius, while the maximum rose by two degrees, creating ideal conditions for visitors. Tourists strolled through the streets and markets, enjoying the crisp morning air and capturing scenic views to remember their trip. Many also spent time boating on Nakki Lake, basking in the refreshing weather.

Jodhpur Records Season’s Lowest Temperature

Last night, temperatures in Jodhpur dropped to 16.7°C, marking the coldest night so far this season. The early morning chill prompted residents, especially those in outlying areas, to dress in heavier clothing. The Meteorological Department predicts further drops in Jodhpur’s daytime temperatures. On Monday, the minimum temperature closely matched the seasonal average of 16.7°C, a shift from recent weeks when night temperatures were 2-3 degrees higher. The cold was mild in the early hours, but by afternoon, bright sunshine had raised temperatures to 35.1°C, making fans necessary.

Western Disturbance Expected to Bring a National Temperature Drop

In states across northern India, including Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, minimum temperatures currently remain 3-5 degrees above normal. The Meteorological Department has forecasted the arrival of a Western Disturbance soon, which is expected to bring rain and snowfall to the northern hills. Light snowfall has already begun in some areas, setting the stage for a significant temperature drop by November 14. Due to this disturbance, minimum temperatures across the region may fall by one to two degrees, signalling the arrival of severe winter conditions.
