The counselling for candidates who made it through the third stage of the Bihar Public Service Commission’s teacher recruitment exam kicked off on Tuesday at the District Registration and Counselling Centre. On the first day, they focused on teachers for classes one to five. This counselling will run until February 5. They’re handling it in five time slots across five counters at the DRCC.
Each counter is set to assist 60 candidates daily, meaning a total of 300 candidates will be counselled each day across all counters. Learning from past experiences, the department has implemented several changes to the counselling process for BPSC teacher candidates this time around.
Now, the counselling is organized into time slots to help reduce unnecessary crowds. Still, there was quite a bit of commotion at the DRCC throughout the day since many people accompanied each candidate. Before the counselling began, teacher candidates had to register, and after that, their thumbprints were taken, and biometric verification was completed.
The counselling process was finalized at the designated counters. Unfortunately, many candidates were unable to complete the counselling due to not submitting the required documents that were supposed to be uploaded prior to the exam.
Counselling dates vary by class:
For Primary Level (classes 1 to 5): January 21 to 25.
For Upper Primary Level (classes 6 to 8): January 27 to 29.
For TGT (Classes 9 and 10): January 30 to February 1.
For PGT (Classes 11 and 12): February 4 to 5.
Counselling will be conducted for a significant number of positions:
Primary Level: 21,911 posts available.
Upper Primary Level: 16,989 posts available.
TGT: 15,250 posts available.
PGT: 12,195 posts available.
