Baghpat Laddu Festival Accident – 7 Dead, 40 Injured, Rescue Ops Underway

The remaining 40 others have been injured. Immediately after the accident, there was a stampede on the spot. It is being told that five policemen have also been injured in this accident. This accident happened on Gandhi Road in Baraut city Kotwali area. The injured are being rushed to the hospital in a hurry. DM Asmita Lal and SP Arpit Vijayvargiya are reaching the hospitals and taking information about the wounded.

According to the information, seven people have died so far due to the collapse of the stage of Man Stambh built on the grounds of Shri Digambar Jain Degree College; the news of the remaining 40 people being injured is coming to the fore. The deceased include Tarshpal Jain, son of Hukamchand, 74 years, Amit son of Naresh, 40, Usha wife of Surendra, 65; Arun Jain, Master son of Keshavram, 48; Shilpi Jain, daughter of Sunil Jain, 25 years, Vipin, son of Surendra 44, Kamlesh wife of Surendra 65.

A religious program was to be held here today under the Nirvana Mahotsav; A 65-foot-high stage was also built here. However, its stairs broke, and the stage collapsed, burying many devotees underneath it. Rescue work is currently underway. Top police and administration officials are present on the spot.

CM Yogi expressed grief over the incident.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the incident in Baghpat district. The Chief Minister directed the officials to reach the spot and speed up the relief work immediately. The CM has also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
